About Me
I have over 25 years of experience working with people in different social settings, in many different roles: community worker, community artist, carer, and support worker.
From my community work, I understand how outside factors like: housing, poverty, race, education, and employment can affect our well-being and mental health.
Working as a community artist brings creativity and an ability to think dynamically and interestingly outside the box. It encourages me to look for the glimmers and encourage people to make space for joy.
My work as a support worker showed me how important it is to be trauma informed throughout my practise. Training as a counsellor has brought all my experience together, and it has given me the tools and experience to work with people in a way I always hoped possible.
My approach is centred around creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment. It's a collaborative and personalised process, where I strive to empower you to navigate challenges, gain self-awareness, and develop effective coping mechanisms.
With a commitment to your well-being, I have regular supervision, integrating feedback and best practices to enhance my counselling skills. Your healing journey towards personal growth, fulfilment and living a joyful life is my priority.

* The Body Keeps the Score - Bessel Van de Kork
A wonderful book, looking at how are bodies keep and remember trauma. a heavy read but so informative.
* The Gift, 12 life lessons to save your .life. Edith Eger.
A self help book, really inspiring and informative.
* How to do the work - Ncole LePera
This is one of many great books by Nicole, clearly written and easy to follow, gets you to go deep in a safe and ejoyable way.
* Sisterhood heals Joy Harden Bradford. Joy discusses the healing power of black women coming together, these stories are inspirational and there is something for all women to learn from. I really believe when women come together, it can be a great support system for us and our communities.
